This combination delivers astonishing output with pristine clarity, extending down to 15 Hz (±3 dB).
Precision control is handled by a sophisticated 295MHz Analog Devices DSP, fully adjustable via the intuitive SVS Subwoofer Control smartphone app (Bluetooth-enabled) for volume, six-band parametric EQ, phase, and upcoming Auto EQ. Its robust, double-thick MDF cabinet ensures an acoustically inert enclosure, eliminating resonances. With versatile XLR and RCA connectivity and a substantial weight of 124 lbs (19.5 inches H×20.0 inches W×21.1 inches D), the SB17-Ultra R|Evolution is the definitive choice for reference-level music and home theater in any large space.
Features
Effortless Output from High-Excursion 17-inch SVS Driver
It was a ground-up process designing the largest, most formidable driver ever deployed in an SVS subwoofer. An all-new dual voice coil, suspension, basket, and extreme-excursion surround achieve chest-compressing sound pressure levels with flawless tonal accuracy.
- Lightweight and rigid 17-inch glass fiber composite cone with optimal stiffness-to-mass ratio for maximum efficiency and acoustic linearity
- 55lb four-piece toroidal ferrite electromagnetic motor generates massive force with precise control, remaining authoritative yet detailed and controlled
- Extreme-excursion catenary SBR rubber surround maintains pure, long-throw pistonic driver motion
Unerring Control from Revolutionary Dual 8-inch Voice Coils
Unprecedented dual 8-inch voice coils ensure stable transfer of electro-magnetic current to the 17-inch driver for authoritative output and pinpoint driver control.
- 4-layer bi-filar dual voice coils conduct the massive power from the dual-mono amplifier to the motor with maximum thermal efficiency, resulting in effortless acoustic output
- Copper clad aluminum voice coil wire combines the best properties of both elements, yielding ideal thermal capacity and magnetic field strength
First Ever Dual Mono STA-2800D Amplifier Design with Discrete MOSFET Output
The sonic muscle behind the most powerful and highest fidelity SVS subwoofer amplifier ever developed. SB17-Ultra R|Evolution STA-2800D features technological innovations never offered before in a consumer subwoofer amplifier with breakthroughs to ensure refined behavior and pristine response at any volume.
- Limitless headroom from dual mono-block Class-D amplifiers with MOSFET output stages
- Each amp drives one of the dual 8-inch voice coils within the motor to assert pinpoint control and maximize power fed to the driver
- Eight 60 Amp 200 Volt MOSFETs deliver extreme high current for reference-level output with maximum efficiency
Performance Enhancing Switch Mode Power Supply
Regardless of the power coming out of your household circuit, the SB17-Ultra R|Evolution always maintains peak performance and remains impervious to voltage fluctuations.
- Onboard AC line conditioner filters and stabilizes incoming voltage, corrects waveform distortions, and eliminates electromagnetic and radio interferences to optimize signal quality and audio performance
- Ensures clean and consistent 160V rail voltage and optimal power delivery from a standard 15-amp home circuit
- Power-Factor-Correction (PFC) time aligns the AC voltage to the AC current resulting in less heat, greater efficiency, reliable peak power output, and the ability to maintain rated power over a wide-range of voltages
- FEA optimized convection cooling system has no exterior heatsinks, an extraordinary feat for such a powerful amplifier
Extreme Subwoofer Intelligence – 295 MHz Analog Devices DSP
Orchestrating the cutting-edge amplifier, motor, and driver ecosystem is the most sophisticated DSP ever deployed in a consumer subwoofer.
- Accurately shapes in-room frequency response with absolute precision for faithful signal reproduction
- Monitors every function of the amplifier to stabilize AC voltage delivery to the power supply to maintain consistent peak output
- Multi-point thermal, voltage, and current monitoring systems ensures maximum output and efficiency
- Advanced digital audio processing and DACs (Digital-to-Analog Converters) with 120 dB Signal-to-Noise Ratio provide greater headroom, lower noise, and pristine fidelity
